How to Step Into Your THAT Girl Era and Believe In Yourself
Get ready for the most practical tips on how to believe in yourself!
Believing in yourself is no easy task but a journey that is most rewarding. It starts from within and the rest flow from there.
Ask yourself, how are you pouring into yourself? How are you making yourself a priority in the midst of everything?
The first step and the one that will truly carry you through is believing that you ARE that girl. That girl that wakes up and goes to the gym, makes a healthy breakfast, goes to work, comes home from work and makes a delicious dinner and is drinking tea in her silk pajamas by 10PM.
This post is all about how to believe in yourself!
1. It’s All About Your Mindset
It’s you against you. You have to lock in and say that this time is going to be different. You have to be so tired of the way you used to live, past relationships, past friendships, past situations that it leaves you with no other choice but to focus on repairing your mindset.
Stop negative self talk. Seriously, control the negative things you say about yourself whether it’s aloud or in your head.
Try replacing it with something you would like to improve on. For example, if you struggle to stay organized you might find yourself saying “I can’t organize my schedule”. Change this to “I’m going to work on being more organized”
This way you are putting action behind the thing that you struggle with that will ultimately help you improve.
When you speak it it becomes real and the more you tell yourself, the more you start to believe it. It’s you against you.
2. Be Intentional
Be intentional about the way you show up for yourself. How are you pouring into yourself?
Life might be crazy, but it’s not going to get any better if you don’t learn how to prioritize the things that you love. The most important being yourself.
Sometimes this means having a self care day. Sometimes this means taking time to rest, like actually sleeping. Other times this means,
If you do it just because you “need” to do it, you won’t get much out of it and that defeats the purpose of intentionality.
Intentionality starts from within. It’s portrayed in the ways you talk to yourself to the way you do your hair to the way you treat others.
Being intentional makes all the difference.
3. Set Big Realistic Goals
Think big because those things you’ve been dreaming for are going to happen! You’ve got a big future ahead of you. This requires you to truly believe that you have everything that it takes to reach the goal.
When setting realistic goals, pick one thing that you can pour your heart into. Your passion project. Pick a realistic amount of times per week that you are going to spend pouring into this project.
Break it down further. How much time on those days are you going to spend pouring into your passion project?
The key with setting realistic goals is that you’re making it as easy as possible for yourself to reach your goal.
For example if it’s your goal to workout 3 times a week, pick a realistic time to workout that is right in between
Don’t get weary in the valley. Your endurance is being strengthened. Stay the course.
Be flexible. Use wisdom. Take the risk. There could be an even better reward than you thought reward on the other side.
4. Say Goodbye To The Negative People
Babes, they aren’t worth it. They aren’t worth your time, energy, resources, etc.
The more you feed off of their negativity, the more you start to internalize it and believe it. Believing what someone else has to say about you who probably doesn't know the first thing about you just doesn’t make sense?
You know when you tell someone a dream or goal you have and they immediately shut it down or start making excuses as to why you can’t do it. They’re projecting. Projecting their insecurities because they never had what it takes to develop their gifts.
Tip 1: Stop telling people your business. They’ll be fine.
Tip 2: Stop taking advice from people who you wouldn’t switch places with.
Phew.
All negative people do is bring you down and keep you in the same cycle. It’s time to break out of those cycles and unleash the gifts inside of you!
5. Invest In Yourself
Here’s the practicality behind locking into the mindset of believing in yourself.
Invest into your looks. It’s time to book the hair and nail appointment. No it’s not all about looks and being the baddest but it’s about you being confident in your skin.
If there’s a certain makeup look that you want to start experimenting with, try it!
If you need to start your skincare journey, start researching the product that will best fit your skincare needs.
Invest into your wardrobe. Whether you prefer a capsule wardrobe or a little bit of everything, start building your wardrobe. Little by little collect items that you know you can mix and match so that you can get more wear out of your clothes.
Invest in a healthy lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle is however you define it. It could mean working out 3 times or working out 6 days a week.
It could mean home cooked meals every night or meal prepping your lunches Monday - Friday.
The key to a healthy lifestyle is balance. Not restricting yourself but learning to enjoy the moments where you do let loose. In those moments it’s not about indulging because you know that you can always have those foods again.
Invest in your mental health. Whether this means actually taking time to rest, rest. If you need a change of scenery, book the vacation. If you need to heal your trauma, explore therapy options. You are your biggest project. Fill your cup so that others can have your overflow.
