You have to specifically cater to your lifestyle and your comfort level. You might find it difficult to take care of yourself because it’s easy to focus on the needs of others at our own expense. There has to be a balance.
You might even learn something new about yourself and better the relationship you have with yourself. The key to taking care of yourself is making yourself a priority.

1. Move your body
Moving your body is the quickest way to get an endorphin boost. Whenever you participate in any type of exercise this signals your brain to release endorphins that is like a “happy rush”.
Sometimes, it’s necessary that you step away from work, home, the stress of everything and get outside or complete your favorite workout. It alleviates the stress that you might be feeling physically and mentally.
If you are someone that deals with anxiety, movement of any kind (especially outdoors) can help calm your mind because you are shifting your attention to another activity.
2. Prioritize your self care routine
Your self care routine is essential! These are the things/tasks that you lean on that you are going to relax and calm your mind.
Make time for yourself. Take 10-15 before you start getting ready for bed to do your skincare routine, stretch, have a cup of tea, journal, etc.
It’s called self care for a reason, right?
3. Nourish your body
One of the best and long lasting ways you can start taking care of your body is to fuel your body with whole foods. Fill your plate with lean protein, veggies and healthy carbs.
The more you prioritize fueling your body with these foods the more energy you will have.It’s easier for your body to break down these foods as compared to heavily processed foods.
Of course, you can still enjoy yourself, but the majority of your diet should come from non processed whole foods. This will allow you to see maximum weight loss results.
4. Surround yourself with positive influences
One of the most UNDERRATED ways you can take care of yourself is by surrounding yourself with people who lift you up.
When you are constantly hanging around people that are negative and lack ambition it influences you to act the same. When you change the crowd of people you are hanging around, your world changes.
If you want to soar like an eagle, you can’t hang around the birds.
5. Say no
More times than not, you might be over extending yourself. Taking on more responsibility than you can handle. Say yes when you know you need a break. Helping others is great and it most of the time, it requires sacrifice, but there is a boundary to saying yes.
You can’t keep pouring from an empty cup. If your work whether it be your 9-5, side hustle, home life, etc becomes too much to the point where it’s start to affect you, it’s time to take a step back.
Breathe. Everything is going to be okay. Yes, you need your time to recharge. You have to pour into yourself first. Staying in the same cycle of pouring from an empty cup is not only damage to you, but to other person as well.
6. It’s all about your mindset
It all comes to down to your mindset. Do you want to start taking care of yourself. Do you want to change? Do you want a better life for yourself.
Yes, of course you do! Once you win the war in your mind, you’re set.
Getting your mind right is only half the battle. Now it’s time to put that mindset into action and watch your dreams becoming a reality!
