This blog post is all about daily healthy habits!
1. Prioritize yourself
Regardless of what is going on in your life, YOU have to make the decision to keep showing up for yourself.
The most important thing you can do for yourself, is show up for yourself. You can’t pour from an empty cup.
This is where your morning or night routine come in handy because you have something scheduled to help relax you before you begin or end your day.
If you don’t have one, I encourage you to create one! It’s truly life changing.
2. Try waking up earlier
Even waking up 10 minutes earlier gives you an extra 10 minutes to get ahead of schedule, plan out your day, workout, journal, pray, eat breakfast or enjoy your morning coffee/tea.
This is your “you” time before the day begins. Take advantage of it.
3. Drink your water
I know you hear it all the time, but yes you really do need to drink your water. If you are not used to drinking a lot of water, ease your way into it.
If you struggle with drinking water, ease your way into it. I have been using this water for a few months and let to tell you….it’s been helping me stay on track throughout the day.
I normally drink 2 of these each day. If you are starting out, make 1 your goal! Increasing your water intake helps you not overeat and keeps your hydrated.
4. Vitamin D is your friend
Starting your day with even a few minutes fresh air and the sunshine makes all the difference.
Whenever you are feel a midday slump coming, breathe and let the sunshine do its thing!
5. Perfectionism has got to goooo
If you start your day thinking everything is going to be perfect, let go of that idea. I know this is easier said than done, but you have to give yourself grace.
Yes, it’s great to have goals and work hard, but let’s be real life be lifin’ sometimes. These things are out of your control and you have to be flexible and adapt in the best way you can.
6. Move your body
Find someway to incorporate movement into your day. Make time for yourself in the morning by working out before your day gets started.
If you need to stretch your legs at work, midday walks are always nice. If you prefer to workout at night make sure you set a specific goal so that you know EXACTLY what you are doing after a long day at work.
If you don’t know where to start, just start walking. Walking is something and better than nothing.
7. Eat a balanced meal
A balanced meal is has protein, healthy fats, healthy carbs and veggies. This could be your favorite chicken Caesar salad or sheet pan chicken fajitas with a side of guacamole.
Balanced meals ensure that you are nourishing your body, which means you are less likely to want the processed snacks.
8. Add more color to your plate
The easiest way to make your food look more pretty is by adding colorful fruits and vegetables to your plate. Feel free to add yellow, red and orange sweet peppers, cucumbers, squash, asparagus and beets to your favorite meal.
Make your smoothies colorful by adding your strawberries, mangos, pineapple, apples and avocados. This will help bring out the flavor and give your smoothie a pretty color.
9. Schedule time for others
Our lives are so much more than us. While you are taking care of yourself, it only makes sense for you to do the same for others.
10. Drink something green every morning
This could be celery juice or your favorite vegetables and fruits blended. You can by your favorite juice from the store. I recommend the Suja Juice brand. You can always head over to your local juice bar and customize it how you would like.
If you have a juicer that’s great, but you don’t need a juicer to make fresh green juice. A blender and a strainer works great!
I have this fresh green juice every morning!
11. Plan out your day
Planning out your day is essential to staying on top of your ish! Before your day starts (or even the night before) take time to write a list of things you need to get done.
This way you are more likely to stay on track and less likely to procrastinate.
If you need something to help you stay on track……
This is the daily planner for you! It’s super easy to use because you can write your list of to-do’s and time block yourself to keep you organized.
I have been using this for about a month and I look forward to writing down my list of to-do’s and checking everything off my list! It keeps me accountable. You NEED this!
