Are you ready to learn how to be more confident in your body?
Okay ladies, let’s be real, being confident in your body is no easy task. It is a mental game more than anything. Not only are you dealing with the thoughts in your head, but also the fear of what others might think.
The key to confidence is KNOWING who you are and where your identity is rooted in. If no one has told you this, you are beautiful! Flaws and all you are beautiful!
You are so much more than your worst thoughts and the negative things others might say about you. You were created to rise above anything that might confuse you of your identity.

1. Confidence is a mindset
Confidence truly does start from within. It should not be based on how you look, the size of your clothing or your weight. Confidence is believing in yourself. It gives you that inner glow!
You literally have to make the decision to show up as HER before you become HER. Walk in the room like you own it because it is yours.
It’s a mindset in the way you choose that today, in this moment, you are going to envision yourself living the life of your dreams.
The mind is a powerful muscle that directs your every move. What are you going to let direct you?
2. Do more of what makes you feel confident
Engaging in activities that make you feel more confident in your body should be signs to keep doing them! This could be anything from going to the gym, doing your makeup, standing up for what you believe in, pursuing your passions, taking yourself on a date and wearing an outfit that makes you feel GOOODDD and so much more.
There is a reason behind why those things make you feel confident. It does not matter if it makes other people feel uncomfortable. What makes you shine?
3. Confidence is a journey
You don’t wake up one day and decide to be confident. Confidence is a daily decision. You CHOOSE to present yourself as your most confident self.
I mean let’s be honest, you probably are not going to feel your most confident everyday, but as long as you are taking the steps to get there, you are golden.
If you are ashamed of your body, I understand. This is not easy. The key to working through your insecurities is loving your body at every stage. Love yourself on the days when you feel bloated and like you gained 10 pounds and on the days when you feel your best. This will makes the process so much easier.
After losing 45 pounds, I wasn’t magically more confident because I lost weight. I have to make the choice to show up as 100% myself and this makes me feel more confident in my body. And don’t get me wrong, I am not perfect! This is still something I struggle with.
4. Surround yourself with positive people
One of the most CRUCIAL aspects to being more confident is your body is surrounding yourself by people who lift you up.
The people who you surround yourself with will most definitely affect the way you see yourself. It only makes sense right? You are more likely to believe in yourself when you have others hyping you up too!
I’m not saying their opinion is everything, but your closest friends should be the ones who stay in your corner.
5. The negative self talk has got to GO
There is no space for negative self- talk! The way you speak to yourself matters! In a similar manner, the way you speak to others matters too. If you catch yourself talking down to yourself or others, stop.
You are only projecting your negative emotions about yourself on to them and they do not deserve that. The more you talk to yourself positively, the more likely you are to believe it and say it to others too!
6. Compliment yourself
Girl you have to love yourself! Form the habit of complimenting yourself even on the days where you don’t feel your best.
Saying it aloud makes a difference. There is power in your words. You are your biggest cheerleader. Speak life into yourself. If you are waiting for this world to do it…..sis you are going to be waiting forever.
Focus more on the things you love about yourself. It doesn’t have to be something huge. For example, I love how toned my legs are, but sometimes I don’t like how big my thighs are. I bring attention to the fact that I love my legs and focus on that.
There does not need to be a reason for you to love yourself. You love and make the choice to show up as HER because you genuinely want to.
If you struggle with this but want to start, fake it till you make it. Say it out loud until you believe it. This is a huge step, but a life changing one.
7. Reflect on your actions
If you do not like where you are at, make the decision that it is time for a change. You have the power to change your life! You are the pilot.
Really think about the things you would like to change about yourself that are solely for you and not to please others.
Are you mistreating your body by binge eating or drinking? Are you not eating enough food? How are you making the conscious decision to do those things or is it out of habit?
After reflecting on those questions, now it is time to create a plan! A plan is essential to implementing real change!
8. Make a plan to change
You can be confident and still want to change things about yourself. It is not all black and white. True confidence and self awareness is rooted in the ability to look within.
Take it slow and go at your own pace. It’s time to take care of yourself. Like truly take care of yourself. Pay attention to your daily habits because these things add up over time
If you want to start working out, cooking, doing your makeup, changing your career, getting your own apartment, etc., it all starts with a plan.
What steps are you going to take to change that? How bad do you want it? Create time to do the things that make you glow.
9. Spread your confidence!
Now that you know how to be confident in your body, it is time for you to go out and do the same!
You didn’t think it stopped here? Let your confidence shine. Let others see the light within you. Your confidence is so much more than for you, but it is for others as well. Someone is waiting for your confidence to spark the change within themselves. It spreads like a wildfire!
